For us, our design process is everything, so here’s a look into how we turn our ideas into a fantastic bag that will become a staple accessory!
1. One of our favorite ways to bring our ideas together is through pinterest boards! It’s a great way to plan out what colors and patterns go well with each other and to have all your thoughts in one place.
2. Once we’ve got the right idea, it’s time for sketching! This process takes a lot of trial and error, but eventually the ideas come to life and we’re ready for the next step! After we’ve finalized a sketch, we detail the designs in a tech pack, so the measurements and accessories, like zippers, liners and stitching are carefully planned out to keep designs cohesive. Quality is extremely important to us at WKND WYFR, so having the tech pack allows us to maintain a really high standard for each product, while maintaining the little changes that make each WW product so special.
3. Now that the sketch is perfected, we send our tech pack over to our manufacturing team in India. Our designs are hand woven on a loom by skilled artisans. We love this process because it makes every bag unique, just like the women carrying them.
4. Once the fabric is off the loom, they are hand-sewn together resulting in even more variation to our beautiful bags, making them a true piece of art!
5. Lastly, we cut the trim and tassels attached to our bags from the highest quality leather, which is then hand-sewn to the fabric. Since each bag is customized by hand, each piece is literally one-of-a-kind, as well as held to an extremely high standard. We want our products to be as functional as they are beautiful, so we test the strength of the sewing, efficiency of the zippers and liners, as well as the overall fabric quality for durability of every single bag throughout the development and creation process.
6. Finally, we have the finished product! With each bag, every knot, color variance, and handmade stitch made for you, each WW bag is as unique as you. Each bag is inspected for quality assurance by our team in India and the States and comes with the WW guarantee that you will absolutely love your WKND WYFR product.
